Notice on application for ¡°product group¡± registration

  1. The only principle to define ¡°product group¡± is that the main constituents of each individual products are the same, while substances used as solvent, carrier etc. should not be regarded as main constituent.
  2. The sameness of main constituents of each individual products may occur in the following circumstances:
    1. Solutions or dispersions of certain substance while their concentrations may vary.

e.g.: alcohol 30% in water; alcohol 42% in water and alcohol 50% in water could be treated as product group.

B. Pure preparation of certain substance and its solutions or dispersions which conform to Item A.

e.g.: alcohol; alcohol 30% in water; alcohol 42% in water and alcohol 50% in water could be treated as product group.

C. Mixtures of certain substance and other substances while the proportion of the substance is larger than 50% (calculated exclusive of solvents, carrier etc.)

e.g.: 30% NaCl, 20% K2SO4 in water; 35% NaCl, 15% K2SO4 in water and 40% NaCl, 10% K2SO4 in water could be treated as product group.

D. Pure preparation of certain substance and its mixtures which conform to Item C.

e.g.: NaCl; 30% NaCl, 20% K2SO4 in water; 35% NaCl, 15% K2SO4 in water and 40% NaCl, 10% K2SO4 in water could be treated as product group.

. Companies applying for product group registration should comply with the above regulations and applications should be reasoned in detail when submitted.
